The 6th generation Volkswagen Jetta was introduced in 2010 in the United States. In Europe, sales began in 2011. This car was produced in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. During this time, he went through restyling. In this publication, we will provide a description of the fuse blocks and relays of the Volkswagen Jetta 6, we will show the diagrams and photographs of the blocks in which they are located. Let's highlight the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter. We will also show the location of all electronic control units.

Which one is the fuse for hazards lights

John

Relay position 4 and 5 for the two 404 relays. What to they control? I'm not getting power to the first 404 relay (position 4). I'm trying to solve an electrical issue as I'm not getting power to the coolant reservoir connector and numerous other connectors.

Thanks in advance.

FAQs

Where is the main relay on a VW Jetta? ›

Project Photos. Figure 1 The main relay is located in the relay box on the right side of the firewall, next to the brake fluid reservoir. Pull the cover (green arrow) off the relay box. Figure 2 Underneath the cover is the main relay (green arrow).

Why is my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta not starting? ›

The most common reasons a Volkswagen Jetta won't start are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or failed starter.

What are the symptoms of a bad main relay? ›

A bad main relay can cause problems like a no-start condition, unreliable vehicle ignition, an engine that won't stay running, and an illuminated check engine light. Relays are electronically-controlled switches. They connect or break paths in a circuit to control electric currents and their respective devices.

Where is the ECM relay fuse located? ›

The power distribution center, or fuse block, located under the hood houses most or all of the vehicle's fuses and relays. It contains a relay for the ECM that is powered up when the ignition key is turned to the on position. This ECM power relay acts as a switch that supplies power to the ECM.

Where are the two fuse panels located? ›

Usually, you will find two fuse boxes in the car. One is located under the hood and the other is found in the dashboard or near the steering wheel. The fuse under the hood protects important engine components and accessories like battery, ECU and cooling fan.

How do I know which fuse is blown in my fuse box? ›

Remove the fuse from its holder. In some cases you may need a small screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder cap. Look at the fuse wire. If there is a visible gap in the wire or a dark or metallic smear inside the glass then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.

Where is the blown fuse? ›

You can usually spot blown fuses by locating a discolored fuse or a melted piece of metal. If your fuse box is labeled, you may be able to narrow down the fuses based on what part of your home lost power. Remove the blown fuse.

Which fuse is the dashboard? ›

Which Fuse Controls the Dashboard Gauge? The instrument cluster fuse manages the dashboard gauge of a vehicle. It uses electricity from the car battery to power various electronic components of the dashboard such as the different warning lights, gauges, and alarm systems.

What are the main fuses in fuse box? ›

Your fuse box will have two sets of fuses. At the bottom will be 15-amp and 20-amp screw-in fuses with glass faces that are exposed and visible. These fuses will service branch light circuits and outlet circuits. At the top will be 30-amp or 40-amp cartridge main fuses for ovens, laundry rooms, or stoves.

Where is my main fuse? ›

The first thing to do is find your main fuse box (these days called a consumer unit), which will be in the same place as your electricity meter. They're often in the main hallway of a house, in a purpose-built cupboard.

Why is my vehicle suddenly not starting? ›

Check the Battery and Terminals: A dead battery might be the culprit behind the problem, or loose terminals also lead to engine start issues. If you find that the battery is dead, you can charge it or replace it with a new battery. And, if the terminals are loose or dirty, clean and secure them by tightening.

Why is my Jetta ignition not starting? ›

This could be due to a dead or weak battery, a faulty or loose alternator belt, or a problem with the wiring or connections. To check the battery and alternator, you can use a voltmeter to measure the voltage and amperage, or try to jump-start the car with another vehicle or a booster pack.

Where is the power relay located? ›

The fuse box (also called the power box), the instrument panel under the fuse panel, or the right fender are all possible locations. In most cars, it will be under the hood, in a large box with a black lid. This is where car fuses and relays are installed. It is also called a fuse box.

What does the main relay control? ›

As Kaz explained, the main relay powers up the fuel pump, the injectors and the ECU directly. The ECU controls the ignitor module which ground switches the individual ignition coils. The +12v supply to the ignition coils is off a separate fuse on a switched supply that is controlled by the ignition switch.

Where is the ignition relay located? ›

Q: Where Is the Ignition Relay Typically Located? A: The ignition relay is in charge of switching power to both the ignition system and the fuel system once a vehicle's key is turned. The ignition relay (when equipped) is typically found inside the vehicle's fuse box.

What relay is for main ignition circuits? ›

The ignition relay might just be a small component inside your fuse box, but it provides power to a lot of critical components. This is why a faulty one can prevent you from using your vehicle. Make sure to get a replacement ignition relay as soon as you can to get your car back on the road.
