As during the last years, the festival is taking place at the “Small Beach” in Oostende and once again, the festival takes place from Friday to Sunday with two stages - the PGS Stage as main stage and the Batcave Live stage. The festival offers a fabulous line-up once again. Fancy three days of sun, sea and the best music of the 80s and 90s as well as dark Goth music at the Batcave stage. Let me just point out a few bands playing at the festival this year. ADAMSKI will headline the PGS Stage on Friday. Influenced by Punk Rock and John Peel, the young Adam Tinley, as he was then, formed his first band THE STUPID BABIES when he was 11, living in the New Forest, south England. Fast Product signed the primitive kiddie-punk tracks, released them on a sampler, and legendary alternative BBC Radio1 DJ John Peel started playing their endearingly twee song ‘Babysitters’. THE STUPID BABIES caused quite a stir, receiving positive write-ups in music mags like Smash Hits and Melody Maker, and Adam was off on his journey. By 1986 Adam discovered “the 909 - my drum machine of choice,” he recalls. He started the band DISKORD DATKORD, with his older brother Mark and Jonny slu*t. They released their only single in 1988, an electroid cover of ‘Identity’ by Punk band X-RAY SPEX. In the summer of 1988 Adam visited Ibiza and was blown away by the Balearic sets spun by DJs Alfredo and Pippi. It was then that the artist ADAMSKI was born. In early 1989 ADAMSKI was booked for his first solo gig and so the journey begun. Besides Tinley’s other projects, producer and DJ ADAMSKI of course still brings you bastardized club classics from the birth of the rave era until today and beyond…

Fans have been eagerly waiting for his return to Belgium since his last performance in 2012, but the wait is over! The legendary 80s-star ADAM ANT will headline Saturday night and bring an eccentric performance with songs such as ‘Kings or the wild frontier’, ‘Dog eat Dog’, ‘Stand and Deliver’ and ‘Goody two shoes’! It was on a Thursday night, 16th October 1980, when millions of living rooms across the UK, were set on fire by a blazing TV performance by ADAM AND THE ANTS. After three ferocious, minutes of ‘Dog Eat Dog’, on the weekly music show, Top of the Pops, the phenomenon rapidly began and they would go on to dominate the charts with extraordinary success. 2017 then saw Adam launching the now critically acclaimed “ANTHEMS tour” showcasing his wide range of worldwide hit singles along with associated B-Sides. The set was lovingly collated and arranged, providing gloriously uplifting and celebratory shows which included a packed evening at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The year culminated in a return sell out visit to the Roundhouse in Camden, a thank you to the fans with a rousing performance which beautifully highlighted the love of Antmusic. More than 40 years after entering the music scene, ADAM ANT will now headline PGS Stage on Saturday.

Female power on Sunday night with BONNIE TYLER! BONNIE TYLER, born Gaynor Hopkins, was brought up in Skewen, a small village near Swansea. She grew up to become one of Wales’ best-known performers, achieving chart success all over the world. She is recognised for her distinctive husky voice, and a long list of hit singles including ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, ‘It’s a Heartache’, ‘Holding Out for a Hero’, ‘Lost in France’, ‘More Than a Lover’, ‘Bitterblue’ and ‘If I Sing You a Love Song’. In her 50-year career, Bonnie has performed for audiences in countries across the world, and she has enjoyed critical acclaim for her recent albums ‘Rocks and Honey’ and ‘Between The Earth And The Stars’. Her latest album ‘The Best Is Yet to Come’ - released on 26 February 2021 - is a contemporary approach to the sounds and styles of 80s Pop Rock. Bonnie is currently working on new music, and she is preparing to release a brand-new memoir about her life and career. Her 40 Years “Total Eclipse of the Heart” Tour begins in October 2023. “I hope these new songs will lift your spirits. I am so happy and proud of this new album. It simply rocks and brings a smile to my face every time I put it on. The moment we can get back on stage and see your smiling faces will be extra special. I promise the best IS yet to come.”

There will a lot of more big names on the PGS Stage. But W-Fest of course has more to offer than only bands on the main stage. There will be the Batcave live stage for three days Goth music and of course there will be party and dancing with various DJs. The next edition of W-festival is fast approaching! The timings are known, the artists are clearing their throats and of course we also think of your hungry stomachs. The search for the best food trucks in the country is almost complete and the festival is already happy to put some of the foodie stars in the spotlight! The foodie-village meets all the needs of the seasoned foodie. Do you feel like a tasty vegetarian/ vegan meal or do you have a rumbling stomach that can only be cured with a good burger? No problem!
