Campus Coffee and Food Outlook for Winter Break (2024)

You may have to walk a little farther, but you will be able to find coffee and food on campus for at least part of winter break.

Most coffee spots and dining establishments, including the Coffee House, will shut down later this week and most will not reopen until Monday, Jan. 9, the first day of winter quarter instruction.

Scrubs Café is one exception, staying open through Dec. 16 (weekends excluded) before closing until Jan. 9.

The Market at the MU is another exception for food and coffee, open weekdays through Dec. 22, albeit with reduced hours. After a closure from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2, the market will be open with reduced hours from Jan. 3 to 7, before resuming regular hours Jan. 8.

We’ve rounded up all the closures and reduced hours not only for coffee and food, but for the Memorial Union, UC Davis Stores and Amazon store, and the Activities and Recreation Center.

Eateries

• Coffee House — Last day of operation Dec. 9, reopening Jan. 9. During this time, the CoHo staff will complete some additional training with the intent of reopening the TxMx grill and further expanding hours in early January.
• Spokes Grill (Silo) — Closes 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9, reopening Jan. 9.
• The Gunrock (Silo) — Closes 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9, reopening Jan. 9.
• Crêpe Bistro (Silo) — Closes 3 p.m. Dec, 9, reopens Jan. 9.
• Scrubs Café — Closes 2:30 p.m. Dec. 16, reopens Jan. 9.
• Sage Street Market/Café — Closes 10 p.m. Dec. 9, reopens Jan. 8.
• Dining Commons — Segundo DC, last day of operation Dec. 9; reopens Friday, Jan. 6, with dinner. Tercero, Cuarto and Latitude dining commons, last day of operation Dec. 9; reopen Sunday, Jan. 8, with dinner.
