Ice conditions/perch fishing, Cooks Bay lake Simcoe

Most of the snow on top has vanished, slushey. Flash freeze forceast for to-night, all’s good. Warm temps did not affect main ice sheet, solid, no honeycomb. Only one day of mild weather.Worked to-day as usual. In for the long run! Expect some snow on top,in the next couple days. Lovin’it. The least we measured in our spot was 10 inches.

Had a ton of perch under us in the last 2 days, could be more keepers, most of the people took home 25-35, not bad, day really goes buy fast when you’re busy catchin’.Yesterday dead minnows worked on a hook, but to-day they wanted something moving, live bait. The weekends are sometimes too busy and activity in our area spooks the fish. I ask all our followers to please stay back a bit from our camp. The fish are spread out over a wide area, no need to crowd. Snowmobile traffic is the worst in these shallow waters, really scatter the fish. For more info on the main lake check with other operators, further north of us. Thanks all, stay safe out there, Whitey
